My work has always had a strong figurative element, with particular emphasis on facial expressions. I work on a small scale, creating miniature portraits in clay and am currently working in porcelain, discovering the textures and intensity of colours available with this medium.  I became interested in sculpting figures in clay when I was studying ceramics at Bath Academy of Art in the late 70's.   Forty years of creating faces out of clay and it’s still a fascination for me, with each piece presenting new challenges and surprises.
